Abstract

The article deals with determination of the friction coefficient between the bolt carrier and receiver assembly in the amphibious rifle by experimental method when firing in air and under water. The results indicate that firing environment hugely affects the friction. The friction coefficient is 0.4922 and 0.290 when firing in air and underwater respectively. The result of this research can be applied to dynamic analysis of automatic mechanism and design the amphibious rifle.
