This paper deals with the determination of the water-resistance force acting on the bolt carrier assembly in the amphibious rifle when shooting underwater. The calculation process used two methods: the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method and the numerical method. The results of the two methods are compared to verify the reliability of the numerical method. The case study in this paper is the bolt carrier assembly of 5.56 mm amphibious. The result of this research can be applied to the dynamic analysis of automatic mechanisms and design the underwater rifle and amphibious rifle.
